Skalpel ~ 1958
The press release
sounds very happy that a new reserve of breaks has been discovered in Poland
– perhaps this is what the rest of the world will be feeling when oil
reserves are running low and no-one has any petrol for their cars... In the
meantime NinjaTune’s Polish beat-thieves Scalpel perform some plastic
surgery on said music and come up with a charming, light-as-a-feather single
(1958) that like so much cosmetic revisionism probably won’t age very
well, but might just trick its beholder for a moment or two. The other tracks
hint at something a little darker, perhaps worth watching.
