It's pretty obvious that I'm exploring the ideas of interactivity in a so-called interactive medium: hypertext - does this build a fatal flaw into everything I write? I'm not sure. Perhaps I'll know when I've finished this, I know there's a little irony tucked away somewhere in the endeavour. At the same time it seems to me the best way to conduct the investigation, from within!

Also:

I examine specific enterprises on the Net which this format of course allows the reader to visit and experience for themselves. The two sites which I focus on are:

'Crossings'

being ".....an interactive 3-dimensional environment,
expressed as an idea of how to investigate and
navigate the information of cybersace." Click above
to access the site's entrance and below to access
the author's view.

'WAXweb. The Plague-Proof Bees'

being ".....the hypermedia version of David Blair's
feature-length independent film.....". Click above to
access the site entrance and below to access the
author's view.

By establishing an E-mail point on most pages I would hope that visitors will constructively respond to points made and any useful contributions will be added to the site. Thus, I would hope that `interactivity' will become an ongoing, growing enterprise - (t shirts, mugs and a historical movie will, of course, be following in short order.....)

If anybody has got this far I'll acknowledge one thing - the wordiness of it all, well sorry, but it is a dissertation after all! From my own experience I'm aware how little patience I have with reading words when I'm on the Net - all I can do is hope that what I write is interesting and good humoured enough to keep at least some of you reading.
