All the while clamouring for a piece of the world's true core

Dimensions: w: 14.8cm, h: 10.5cm
Photographs (52): 2012–2019
Book: 2019

The title is a quotation from The Meursault Investigation, by Kamel Daoud. The work is inspired by Daoud’s revelation of our cultural blindness

The work aspires to an expanded perception of my experience at an individual and a social level. It explores the spaces both between us, and between us and the world. And it asks what meaning can be found in those spaces.

All the while... is also inspired by The Early Years, a small book of photographs by André Kertész (Norton, 2005).

The work exists in two versions. The first consists of 44 separate photographs printed on glossy 10x15cm paper in a hand-made envelope. The second version comprises 52 photographs printed on rice paper, and stab bound in four separate sections that are contained in a grey slipcase.
